Passions
I am an avid fan of the TV Soap Opera, Passions. Thought I'm not too cozy with their Christian nonsense (i.e. talking Mary's and angels with laser eyes). What attracts me to the show are the characters and the plot twists.
I stopped watching after Passions went to DirectTV because I can't get it here in Canada. =( So everything I've typed here only goes up to September 2007.
Favourite Characters and Couples
I like characters who can think, who are smart, able to plan, plot, scheme and manipulate.
Theresa is my all time favourite character because she is an incredibly hopeless romantic and with all the misfortunes she was born to, she still stands to challenges Gwen and Rebecca, women of money and power. She loves her children dearly and despite her crazy schemes, she does it for love. I may not agree with everything that she does, but I believe it stays true to her character. I absolutely adore her with Jared, I think it's time for her to move on to some well deserved happiness. I'm still a TheRox shipper but only when Justin played Fox. The new Fox (is doing a good job) just doesn't have the chemistry of Lindsay and Justin, in my opinion.
I think Kay deserves to be happy. The birth of Maria changed her when she was previously just a bimbo who had an over-attitude problem. Not only does she have a heart, but she has a brain. I like her even more now that the gorgeous Heidi plays her character. Though I supported her with Miguel before, I realized I just like them as a couple because I couldn't stand Charity. Now I love Foxay and I hate what JER has done with Fox. =( They had such a good thing going. I wonder, if Kay had flashbacks of falling in love with Fox, could they be saved?
Paloma, Fancy and Maya are simply all smoking hot and have great determination. They are independent and strong characters which I why I love them too!
I like Ivy, and admire what she does to get Sam back. I mean come on, even though she lied to tear Sam and Grace apart, the thing is, Grace DID leave on her own, which means, Sam was obviously not her number one priority, religion was. Plus, Savy seems to truely have more passion then Gram (haha .. gram...)
Crazy as it sounds, I want Beth to keep Marty. I have no reason to justify it, (well now I do, Sheridan is a loose caboose! Even worse than Beth!) I just think she would be a better mother. But even more, I hope Antonio comes back and hooks up with Beth. And then have Marty turn out to be Antonio's son, file for custody so Beth can keep Marty. :) I love Beth!
Dislikes
I despise characters who are two dimensional, 'picture perfect', weak, or ideal. Gwen, for example, who is incredibly uncrediable in any of her means despite her reasons because she still has her mother to think up all her schemes for her and get her out of trouble! She irritates me with her logic (or lack of) and her delusional want to have some sort of family by stealing the children of her sworn enemy. What a nut.
Sheridan on the other hand, is just ... a really boring character, I heard she used to be a strong independent woman, but what I see now is a desperate woman in need of ANY baby (woman, they are not dogs, you can't just "keep them"). Her new "evil" self redeems her somewhat in my eyes because it shows me she is not just this "poor victim" but then she stoops so low as to mess around with something as serious as a rapist on the loose just to make Fancy look crazy in front of Luis, that is just dispicable. And wouldn't that ring a bell, Sheridan when you almost went loopy from what Beth did?
And then there's Charity who just makes me sick with her embodiment of good, righteous, faithful self. Her character makes me cringe. Seriously.

Favourite plotlines: Anything to do with Theresa.
Least Favourite plotlines: Eve/TC/Julian, Jessica.
